Felix Baumgartner Record Space Jump Video

Here is the Full Flight of Felix Baumgartners Space Jump on 14th October 2012 breaking the Sound Barrier.

Felix Baumgartner jumps

Yes, Felix Baumgartner jumps. And he even landed on solid earth again. He broke several world records and is actually one of the happiest men on earth. Update coming within minutes.

Felix Baumgartner has launched the Space Jump

the daredevil skydiver, Felix Baumgartner has launched his record-breaking attempt to jump from the edge of space.

The Austrian extreme sports fan, 43, plans to leap from a balloon at an altitude of 120,000ft (36,576m) and reach speeds of hundreds of miles an hour, breaking the sound barrier.
The Austrian hopes to be in freefall for five-and-a-half minutes above the New Mexico desert.
If he succeeds he will become the first person to reach supersonic speeds without the protection of an aircraft.
Previous attempts had to be abandoned because of windy weather.
Baumgartner entered the small space capsule that will carry him to his jump height at around 1430GMT.

And after another brief delay due to wind, the go-ahead was given to inflate the balloon that will propel Baumgartner into the stratosphere.
The current freefall record is held by Colonel Joe Kittinger, who jumped at an altitude of 102,800ft (31,333m) in 1960.
From mission control, Mr Kittinger, told Baumgartner: "We are going to get your goal and your dream accomplished Felix."
The capsule soared into the sky just after 1630GMT, embarking on a journey that will take around three hours before Baumgartner attempts his historic jump.
His delicate balloon is made of a plastic film just 1/10th the thickness of a sandwich bag.

The balloon holds 850,000 cubic metres of helium gas and will dramatically expand as the balloon rises towards the stratosphere.
Felix Baumgartner will be carried aloft in the capsule into a near-vacuum where there is hardly any oxygen.
He is wearing a specially-designed suit that is pressurised and heavily insulated to protect him against the extreme conditions at high altitude.
He will breath pure oxygen throughout the flight. The moments immediately after he jumps will be critical.
Scientists will monitor the effects of his descent on his body. They hope to develop life-saving technology that could be used by high-altitude pilots, astronauts and space tourists.
During a test jump earlier this year, from an altitude of 97,145ft (29,610m), Mr Baumgartner reached 537mph, the speed of a commercial jetliner. We wish him and the Red Bull Stratos Team best luck!

Space Jump on Sunday, Felix Baumgartner and Red Bull Stratos disappointed

The austrian hobby athlete Felix Baumgartner hopes to make a second attempt to worldrecord and become the world's first supersonic skydiver with a 23-mile free fall over New Mexico on Sunday or Monday.

Felix Baumgartner was seconds away from lift-off in the US state of New Mexico on Tuesday when mission control decided to cancel it because the huge balloon taking him up was buffeted badly, even while still on the ground.
The Red Bull Stratos mission organisers had said shortly afterwards that Thursday could work for a new bid. That was ruled out Wednesday, but a weekend launch is now a definite possibility.
They said: "Everything is looking very good" for Sunday, spokeswoman Sarah Anderson told AFP, while a mission statement said the 43-year-old was getting over his disappointment, and focusing on the next attempt.

Felix Baumgarten "was surprised and disappointed that his attempt to become the first person to break the sound barrier in freefall had to be scrapped due to gusts of wind near the top of his 850,000 cubic meters balloon," it said.
But then was added "Weather permitting, the Austrian will likely get another chance to to write history while breaking four world records with his jump from the edge of space on Sunday."
Baumgartner plans to jump from an altitude of 23 miles in a pressurised space suit after being taken aloft in a capsule suspended under a giant helium balloon.
Felix Baumgarten aims to break at least three records: the highest freefall leap; the fastest speed ever achieved by a human; and become the first person to break the sound barrier of around 690 miles per hour in freefall.
Baumgartner has been training for five years for the jump, during which he will be in freefall for some five minutes before opening a parachute at 5,000 feet to float back to the ground.
The biggest danger the hobby athlete faces is to spin out of control, which could exert G forces and make him lose consciousness. A controlled dive from the capsule is essential, putting him in a head-down position to increase speed.
Baumgartner has broken several records in the past, notably with spectacular base jumps from the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur and the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The mission, backed by a 100-strong team of experts, also hopes to contribute to medical and aeronautical research aimed at improving the safety of astronauts.
If and when it does go ahead, the ascent is expected to take between two and three hours. If all goes well, the descent will take about 15 to 20 minutes – five minutes or so in freefall, and 10 to 15 floating down with his parachute.
Baumgartner has spoken of his disappointment when the first launch was aborted. "When (mission director) Art (Thompson) told me we were aborting the mission I thought it was a joke," he said.
Felix Baumgartners last statement: "I want this to happen this year. We've made it so far. There's no turning back," he added. "We're here, we've got the helium and we're good to go. Whether that's tomorrow or the first day next week, I don't really care." We wish him best Luck. Stay tuned for latest news on Felix Baumgarten Space Jump on our Blog.

HE DID IT! FELIX BAUMGARTNER JUMPED FROM SPACE!

"HE DID IT! FELIX BAUMGARTNER JUMPED FROM SPACE!"

With a little luck, that will be the phrase in everybody's head within the next 24 hours. On Thursday, 11th of October 2012, if everything is working under perfect conditions, including the weather conditions, Felix Baumgartner, supported by RED BULL STRATOS Team and his family, will do the 24.000 mile Jump from Space, the so called "Space Jump". Let's hope the best for good old Felix Baumgarten, the Speed and Adrenaline Junkie.
He was always known for doing the craziest and most risky jumps from really dangerous places, either nature or buildings. Hopefully today, will also be one of these lucky days. Although this jump is not comparable to any kind of the jumps he did before. He will break a new world record, if he survives it, what we strengthly recommend him.
Ok no sarcasm here, it is really a serious case. It is highly dangrous to do this jump from that height, cause no one knows if the human body, although he has all kinds of safety and security like special clothes and a special helmet, he will break through the supersonic. With more than 600 mp/h. Say it: More than 600 miles per hour.
We wish him our best luck. Felix, do it right!

Soon we will post the Space Jump Live Stream here. So have an eye on this Blog.

FELIX BAUMGARTNER LIVE!

On Thursday 11th of October, finally, the world will see Felix Baumgartner's Space Jump. The Red Bull Stratos Team is already working wit all their team, but there are still complications with the weather conditions. All we can do is hope. And wish Felix Baumgartner good luck. He will jump from more than 24.000 Miles above sealevel, from the Stratos (Stratosphere).

The FELIX BAUMGARTNER LIVE STREAM will be posted here to that time. We will post any news instantly here. Also the Space Jump Live Stream Link will be posted here before the Jump.
If you miss the Jump, be also sure to visit us again. We will put a Youtube Link and do a big review of the Felix Baumgartner's Space Jump.
